THE ROCK REPORT
In an attempt to stay in touch with friends and family... I unveil my personal blog! This will be a place where you will be able to track my progress. I've gone to the Great White North and back to Vancouver and now I'm slowing things down in the Surf Capital of Canada - Tofino. Expect daily updates and photos of what I am up to. And being a pop culture vulture....don't be surprised to see a sprinkle of celebrity gossip thrown in. Let's slow things down and set our clocks to Tofino Time.

I miss my friends at home....
Today I went to Value Village: ALONE!!!
As any one of my lovely friends could attest....shopping at a thrift store alone and shopping at a thrift store with friends are two completely different things. There was this awesome 70's mini dress and nobody to laugh at it with. That sounds stupid doesn't it??!! But it's the little things that I really miss. There was also an older lady in front of me in line (when I say old I mean 65+) buying loads of lingerie....it was too funny!
Karlee - Kristin - Aisha - Veronica: Thanks for the e-mails. I'll get back to you at the latest tomorrow. I read them over and over and over.
Thanks x 1 million. Now who can I find to be my thrift store buddy?
I spent most of the day cleaning...
I cleaned the carpets and will probably clean them again tomorrow before taking the machine back to Save-On. I am now on the hunt for a coffee table and a side table. It will be back to the thrift stores Sunday afternoon.
Everything will be in ship shape when Dad and Marcus visit. Marcus is spending one night here on his way to Chetwynd.
Tonight it's off to my friend Carol's house. She's throwing a house party and it should be fun. I'm not too sure how late I'll stay out though....I truly enjoy being in bed by 11pm. Am I a freak or something?!?!?
PS - My hair looks awesome. Dad will not like it....it's very very dark. Don't worry Dad...it will be back to blonde soon enough!!!
It was two years ago on this day that Brett and I left for Europe!!!
I cannot believe it....it feels like one hundred years ago.
The truth is that I'll probably look back on my two months backpacking through England, Belgium, Germany, France, Czech Republic, Italy and Greece and remember it as the best time of my life!
Two years ago??? WOW! Time travels fast.

This morning I was taken to "Booster Juice".
Everyone at the station always talks about it and the people who work there are die-hard listeners. I had a yummy Strawberry drink which was very sweet.....but....
The boys made me take a shot of WHEAT GRASS!!!!
It was absolutely disgusting. The taste still lingers 6 hours later. And when I burp I can taste the dirty grassy muddy taste. YUCK!!!!
I hope it was worth it and my sniffles go away. Grass is for cows.
Last night was Thursday which means : Bowling night!!!
We had some first timers with us. Kyle and his roommate Scotty joined the fun. I was proud of myself because I bowled the best game of the night...149!!! Not too bad eh?! I think I might have to take my Dad 10 pin bowling here in PG because it is just the thing to do.
I was finally allowed to bowl on Colin - Docc - and Steve's team! TEAM: FREEDOM. I'm now on the hunt for a cute pink bowling shirt to wear next week. Value Village anyone????
*Remember kids....smoking is BAD*
I was thinking that it was time for a change.
Being that fall is around the corner....the leaves are changing colour...it's time for my semi-annual hair transformation.
I'm tired of the blonde with the chestnut brown underneath....it's time for a solid colour...
I'M BECOMING A RED HEAD IN TWO HOURS. WISH ME LUCK!!!!
*Expect photos tomorrow*

I'm going to be on the BEAT 94.5!!!
I have recorded a 30 second commercial for my broadcast school "Columbia Academy".
It starts out with me saying "Hi! I'm Heather Keegan......"
It will be playing in heavy rotation on the BEAT.
If you hear it let me know how it sounds!!! And say "Hey....I know that chick!"
For those of you who are wondering...
Brett and I are no longer together.
He plans on travelling to Thailand in the new year and I of course am busy working in Prince George.
All I can say is what a great three years it was!!!! So many amazing memories....
I really hope the two of us will be able to become close friends....
So Ozzy finally got a haircut!!!
The lady who groomed him said he was very well behaved. He actually smells good right now.
He was shaved except for his ears and tail and as you can see he looks totally different. Because his hair is now so short I took the opportunity to buy him a t-shirt! And believe it or not....he likes wearing it!
By November I'll bet he will have a lovely collection of sweaters.
I hope he's polite when I bring him into work tomorrow!
*He looks like a poodle*
QUOTES OF THE DAY:
Later that day I got to thinking about relationships. There are those that open you up to something new and exotic, those that are old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started, and those that bring you back. But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you can find someone to love the you you love, well, that's just fabulous.
Maybe our mistakes are what make our fate. Without them, what would shape our lives? Perhaps if we never veered off course we wouldn't fall in love, or have babies, or be who we are. After all, seasons change. So do cities. People come into your life and people go. But it's comforting to know the ones you love are always in your heart. And if you're very lucky, a plane ride away.
*THANK GOD FOR CARRIE BRADSHAW*

No more upset mornings-No more trying evenings-This American Dream-I am disbelieving-When the gas in my tank feels like money in the bank-Gonna blow it all this time, take me one last ride-For the lights of this city, they only look good when I'm speeding-I wanna leave em all behind me cause this time I'm gone-Long gone,This time I'm letting go of it all-So long,This time I'm gone-In the far off distance-As my taillights fade-No one thinks to witness but they will someday-Feel like a question is forming-And the answer's farI will be what I could be-Once I get out of this town-For the lights of this city-They have lost all feeling-Gonna leave em all behind me cause this time I'm gone-Long gone,This time I'm letting go of it all-So long,Long gone, I'm letting go of it all-Yeah, This time I'm gone-If nothing is everything-If nothing is everything I'll have it all-If nothing is everything then I will have it all - PEARL JAM "GONE"
*the song of my life right now*
My friend Jessica Williams from the station is in Saskatchewan visiting her boyfriend Brad.
I dropped her off at the airport on Saturday and she was sooo excited!!!
I admire her so much for being able to be in a long distance relationship...maybe it's because she's 24 and much more mature than silly ol' me but I'm not sure if I could ever be in a long distance relationship. Am I lazy? Or just plain cynical?
Either way J-Dubbs manages to make it work!!! I think that's awesome.
I hope she meets a new friend whom we'll call "Tiffany" while she's away ;).
I miss J-Dubbs.....I love friends who let me sleep on them at 1am at Colin's house!
Believe it or not...Ozzy is getting a hair cut tomorrow! He is going to a great place very close to where I live. He is getting shaved, bathed, his ears cleaned, and his nails clipped.
I warned the groomer that he will be quiet a project...he stinks and his hair is a mess!
Then on Thursday I will bring him into work for the first time!!! I really hope he doesn't pee on the floor...that would be bad. Lately though he has been top notch on going outside.
I will post pics of the spruced up Ozzy in about 24 hours!!! I hope he behaves himself.
*Can you believe he was ever that small???!!!! He looks totally different!*
DOCC ANDREWS: I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.
HEATHER KEEGAN: Really.
DOCC ANDREWS: People know me.
HEATHER KEEGAN: Well, I'm very happy for you.
DOCC ANDREWS: I'm very important. I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.
Question: What is the truest definition of Globalization?
Answer: Princess Diana's death.
Question: How come?
Answer: An English princess with an Egyptian boyfriend crashes in a French tunnel, driving a German car with a Dutch engine, driven by a Belgian who was drunk on Scottish whisky, (check the bottle before you change the spelling) followed closely by Italian Paparazzi, on Japanese motorcycles; treated by an American doctor, using Brazilian medicines. This is sent to you by a Canadian, using Bill Gate's technology, and you're probably reading this on your computer, that uses Taiwanese chips, and a Korean monitor, assembled by Bangladeshi workers in a Singapore plant, transported by Indian lorry-drivers, hijacked by Indonesians, unloaded by Sicilian longshoremen, and trucked to you by Mexican illegals.....
That, my friends, is Globalization.
I still remember the night I found out she died...my Dad picked up me and my best friend Kristin from Minoru Swimming Pool and we were so sad.....
Apples and Wine:
Women are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. Most men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they sometimes take the apples from the ground that aren't as good, but easy. The apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they're amazing. They just have to wait for the right person to come along, the one who is brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree.
Now Men.... Men are like a fine wine. They begin as grapes, and it's up to women to stomp the sh*t out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.
ALL OF MY FRIENDS ARE GOOD APPLES!!!

And now the time has come for a huge announcement....
My dear friend from Columbia Academy....
Has been hired!!!!
It's so cool to see all of my friends from broadcast school heading up north. Marcus joins his best friend Danno in Chetwynd....could this be any more perfect????!!!
I have a friend I need to tell you about. His name is Colin Pearson!!!
He is the creative director of 94x as well as an amazing musician.
We might be coming down to Vancouver to see the Tragically Hip and Colin and his buddy Steve are playing a show at El Cocal on Commercial drive.
His website is one of my favourites. Viewer discretion advised!!!! (Just kidding)
Go to www.colinpearson.com NOW!!!! His music will move you. He opened up for Mathew Good and Kim Mitchell when they were in town. He's an up and comer. You can buy his cd online too! It's awesome.
*Like the photo? Me, Colin, and a Cougar at 1201 Nightclub*
You now have a chance to hear what I do!!! I have created a myspace profile for the Dog's Breakfast featuring bits and pieces from the show.
Hope this gives you a feel for our morning show.

I was just sending an e-mail to my dear friend Marcus. We went to Columbia Academy together and he is now my favourite pen pal! Marcus is an unbelievable DJ and is super close to getting a job working for Peace Fm in Chetwynd with our other great friend from school, Danno.
I want everyone to send good, positive thoughts to Marcus and hopefully next week I'll be posting a big congratulations for him!
If not....what is the world coming to?!?! He'll be a morning man soon enough.
Marcus doesn't always look so tipsy....we were having a good time at the Buffalo Club!
I saw Jacka$$ 2 with the new guy from The Wolf (our sister station). We call him Big Gay Al. His name is Al....he is big....but he's not gay! He's a really cool dude. Colin Pearson's little bro Steve also came with us.
I must say....my tummy still hurts from laughing so hard. It was disgusting, juvenile, and crude....but ultimately hilarious. There were parts when I couldn't breath through my laughter. You must see this movie in theatres where you can see all the reactions from the different people sitting around you. But be warned....it is not for those who are sensitive, politically correct, or under 18!!! Do not go on a full stomach. Other than that...ENJOY!!!

*I think I'm in love with Bam*
The Prince George Cougar's home openers were this weekend and I went to both games on Friday and Saturday night! It was my first visit to the CN Centre and it is a great venue.
And beer isn't ridiculously overpriced....not that it affects me at all but it's nice for everyone else to not pay $8.00 per brewsky.
The Cougars won on Friday and lost on Saturday. There was a crowd of about 4,000 on Friday and 3,000 on Saturday. We get in for free to every game because we're on the Media list! So do the jocks from the other stations and it's actually nice to mingle with the competition.
Docc introduced me to his good friend Roo Phelps from The Classic Rock station in town. She came to the game with us and she is awesome!!!
*I was sad because the Cougar's lost 4-2 to Seattle on Saturday*
On Friday morning Brad and I broadcast live from UNBC! It is such an amazing school. I don't see why anyone would go to UVIC when they could come up here! The outside looks like Whistler Village and it's at the top of a hill and it is absolutely incredible.
It made me sad to be there because for a second I felt like I missed out on something. It would be such a great experience to live with all of your friends and be away from home and live the campus life.
Then I remembered that I have the coolest job in the whole world and I felt better!
Don't I look so smart in this picture?!
Ozzy Osbourne is doing great! I think he's now fully grown and he's starting to settle down a bit. He's very needy...a lot like this girl I know really really well....but he's a sweetheart. I think I'll take him to the park today to run around and maybe meet some other dogs. Oh...and if you haven't seen him in a while...I'm sad to report that he has developed a mad under bite (as you can clearly see in the above photo).
Who thinks he needs a hair cut?!?!?! (My kitchen floor is straight out of 1971 by the way).
Here I am in the studio doing what I do best....dishing out the Entertainment Dirt at 6:45 in the morning. Don't believe me when I say it's that early??? Take a look at the clock on the wall!!! What you can't see in the background is my large Tim Horton's French Vanilla coffee....I couldn't live without it!
PS - My face looks so strange because I was mid-laugh.
Perhaps you have heard of the legendary "Thursday Night" bowling extravaganza. Each and every Thursday night a group of us from the station head on over to Strike Zone and bowl for a few hours. Last Thursday the boys took it to a whole other level...yes....they got matching shirts. They are TEAM FREEDOM. And even with all of that draft beer flowing through their systems....they aren't half bad!
*I was sad because I wanted a matching shirt too*
In an attempt to stay in touch with friends and family...
I unveil my personal blog!
This will be a place where you will be able to track the progress of my busy professional life, my home life in Prince George and my even busier private life!!!
Expect daily updates and photos of what I am up to up North. And being a pop culture vulture....don't be surprised to see a sprinkle of celebrity gossip thrown in.
Keep on rockin' in the free world and ENJOY!
