THE ROCK REPORT
In an attempt to stay in touch with friends and family... I unveil my personal blog! This will be a place where you will be able to track my progress. I've gone to the Great White North and back to Vancouver and now I'm slowing things down in the Surf Capital of Canada - Tofino. Expect daily updates and photos of what I am up to. And being a pop culture vulture....don't be surprised to see a sprinkle of celebrity gossip thrown in. Let's slow things down and set our clocks to Tofino Time.

On Saturday night I went to the Spruce Kings game with Docc and Al. They were playing at the CN Centre to get some hype for the RBC Cup. I cared more about my cotton candy, popcorn and large coke....it was fun! The game was crazy. There were so many fights. With 15 minutes left in the 3rd period, each team had just 7 or 8 players left. The others all recieved game misconducts. You think I'm joking, but I'm not. Go to www.sprucekings.bc.ca and take a look at the penalties from their game against Quesnel.
Docc, Al and myself ended up going onto the ice during intermission to do the $10,000 Shoot Out! It's sponsored by 94X so out we went in front of nearly 3,000 people. Did I mention that we had no idea we were supposed to do this? But during the 2nd period we heard, "94X crew please report to...." and we all looked at eachother and looked around and said "Well I guess that's us!". Docc did all the talking. I just stood there and tried to look pretty....it was somewhat hard to do that in sweatpants and your boyfriend's Liverpool sweater, but like I said, I tried!
The player came SO CLOSE to winning the $10,000. It's virtually impossible, but I really thought he had done it! The crowd loved it. One of the sponsor's looked terrified. It was the closest anyone's ever come to actually winning the prize. It was a fun night! The last hockey game I'll ever see in PG....
My thoughts on the Oscars....
I loved Ellen hosting. I love Ellen in general, but I thought she did a fabulous job. Highlights were getting Steven Spielberg to snap a picture of her with Clint Eastwood for Myspace, delivering a screen play to Martin Scorsece, and her entire opening speech had me laughing out loud.
I was happy with all the winners. I was definately pulling for Little Miss Sunshine to win Best Picture, but I haven't seen The Departed yet, so I'll have to give it a chance.
As far as fashion goes: loved Kate Winslet, loved Gwenyth Paltrow, loved Emily Blunt. However the dress I keep thinking about was the one on Jessica Biel. It's no wonder that all of young Hollywood hates her. She shows up in a neon pink gown that screams "Look at me!!!" and she wasn't even nominated for anything. That girl's got guts.
My favourite moment of the show was when Will Ferrell and Jack Black performed. I watched it on youtube and tears were streaming down my cheeks. When they claim they're going to beat up the nominees....I lost it. Too funny.
"Hey Leo, you think you can date supermodels and win Oscars? I'm going to elbow you in the larynx!" - Jack Black
"Ryan Gosling, you're all 'hip and now'. Well I'm going to break your hip RIGHT NOW!" - Will Ferrell
"Peter O'Toole, you're all legendary and English, I don't care. I'm going to beat you down with my Nickelodeon Award!" - Jack Black
"Mark Walhberg, where are you? I won't mess with you. You're actually kind of badass. Once again I hope we're cool. You are very talented" - Will Ferrell
Sorry for the lack of posts.
Very busy weekend. It's moving week!!! The best/worst/scariest/happiest week ever. I think I'm prepared. My car is clean (somewhat), my house is almost clean, and I am for the most part packed.
Kelly is coming here on Wednesday, just for the day, to bring home some suitcases. And then on Thursday, Alex is flying up to do the drive home with me, which starts on Friday at 10:30am. We should be back in Vancouver around 7:30pm. I really need to get my car cd player fixed asap.
Today my brain feels like it's been put in a blender on high speed. I can't think straight. My head feels foggy. My emotions are all over the place. I really need to take it a day at a time. I just feel stuck. But hopefully that will change on Friday.
I'm just scared. I feel totally different from the girl who left for Prince George last July. I don't even know who she is anymore. Weird. I guess that's growing up. I have evolved...I had no choice. I'm just worried that the girl who returns to Richmond will be a stranger to most.

It was a big day for Ozzy yesterday....
He got a new hair do! I took him to the groomer's and asked that they really clean him up. And they did. Some people like Ozzy's shaggy do, others like him trimmed with short fur. I am a fan of the short fur. It's soft and it doesn't get stuff stuck in it!
I forget how small he is, only 13 pounds! He does look a like a rat a bit....but a super cute rat! Right? RIGHT???

Let's backtrack to the weekend...because I had a great weekend!!!
Alex flew up to PG on Saturday night. We went for dinner - watched SNL and then watched "Lost in Translation". I don't know why I never watched it before....it was so good! No wonder why he's madly in love with Scarlett Johannsen. The whole time while I was watching it I just kept thinking of Kelly and Neil....they must get a kick out of watching that movie. I can't even imagine...
The next day we went out for breakfast, I took him to the station and showed him around, and we also went to the old house in North Meadows. I wanted to get a picture taken by it but the owner was outside and I didn't want to bother him. Later that night we watched the NBA All Star game. That is where the picture comes from. It literally put me to sleep. Alex took that picture of me passed out at 8pm. Either the game was really boring or I was really tired. I'm not sure which!!! If Alex is reading this: I loved the All Star game! I love sports! I was just really sleepy.

Oh Britney....
I bought your albums - all of them - even "Britney" (which totally sucked by the way). I bought magazines with you on the cover. I paid money to see you lip sync your way through a concert at Pacific Coliseum. I was a fan.
After you married a back up dancer (gross!) my opinion was "As long as you're happy...". When you announced your divorce from the back up dancer I ran around work telling anyone who would listen.
And now.....why Britney, why?

Today is Jessica's last day in Prince George and I am sad.
I don't know what I'd be doing or where I'd be right now if it wasn't for Jess. Since I moved up north in July, she has been nothing short of an angel to me. She listened when I was upset, she gave me advice when I was confused, she stood by me through thick and thin, and she shared my joy when I was happy. I am blessed to call her my friend.
Tomorrow she is turning a new page in her life and I couldn't be more thrilled or proud of her! She is moving to Saskatchewan and I cannot wait to visit her and her man Brad this summer. We might even go fishin'!
I made this slideshow for Jess as her going away present. It is a summary of our friendship thus far!
I am going to miss Jessica so much. Who am I going to dance to Buckcherry with? Who am I going to go to BP with? Who am I going to wreck beds with? Who am I going to complain to for the next two weeks? And who is going to make me cheesecake and a killer cup of tea???

After having a horrible day - this WILL make me feel better. If you know me, you should know that my hobby is going to shows. It's an expensive hobby that some people don't understand.
I sat down and wrote down every single concert I've seen in my life. I'm sure I've missed a few but here's what I have so far in order of most recent (the number next to some bands is the number of times I have seen that group):
Papa Roach - It Dies Today - Art of Dying (2) - Rise Against - Snoop Dogg - Kurupt - The Tragically Hip (2)- The Sadies - Incubus - Moka Only - Red Hot Chili Peppers (2) - The Mars Volta (2) - Kim Mitchell - Foo Fighters (2) - Billy Talent (3) - Theory of a Deadman - Thornley - Marianas Trench - Armchair Cynics - Hot Hot Heat (2) - Beck - Death Cab For Cutie - Matisyahu - The Decemberists - Nada Surf - Arctic Monkeys - Big Japan - Queens of the Stone Age (3) - Nine Inch Nails - TV On The Radio - Bauhaus - And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead - HIM - Wolfmother - The Strokes (2) - Our Lady Peace (2) - Neverending White Lights - Shocore - Mobile - Stabilo - DJ Peretz (Perry Farrell) - Coldplay (2) - Fiona Apple - Riders On The Storm - Barenaked Ladies (4) - Gwen Stefani - MIA - Audioslave - Seether - 30 Seconds To Mars - Green Day - Jimmy Eat World - System of a Down - Pearl Jam - Jack Johnson - Matt Costa - Alanis Morisette - Velvet Revolver - Three Days Grace - Ashlee Simpson - Sum 41 - Chantal Kreviazuk - Sarah McLachlan - Avril Lavigne (2) - Delirium - The Distillers (3) - Crowned King - Shania Twain - Alexisonfire - Death From Above 1979 - The Music - Gob - Swollen Members - Jewel - Britney Spears - Destiny's Child - Janet Jackson - 112 - Backstreet Boys - N'SYNC - Pink - Jann Arden..........
And in the next few months I will have plenty of more shows to add to my growing list!!!
This post is for somebody who I don't even think reads my blog but I must write it anyways.
I want this person to know the following things - since this person will never ever realize them on their own:
I am smart. Really smart actually. I could be a lawyer, a doctor, a teacher, a writer, or a scientist. I was accepted to UBC. I could have a degree. And maybe I will one day. I started attending a post secondary school while I was still in high school. And now I am only 20 years old and I have every option in the world available to me. I am not an idiot. I am aware of current issues, I read the newspaper, and I read a wide variety of books.
I am interesting and unique. Not "weird" or an "odd bird". I love to try new things, and take risks. But most importantly, I am not afraid to be myself. I do not spend time trying to impress anyone, and I constantly try to live my life being only true to myself. That takes courage and I am proud that at a young age I am able to love and appreciate myself.
I am positive. I do not enjoy being confrontational and I live with a moto of "Live and let live". I am an eternal optimist. Despite negative things happening to me in my life, I am able to rise above the negativity and still be a happy person. It doesn't mean I don't cry, or get upset, or angry, but I refuse to feel sorry for myself. It's as simple as that.
My passion is music. I am open to any type of music and I love to hear new music and old music, country, rap, rock, pop, hip hop, folk, classical. Anything. To put somebody down or insult them because you do not have a shared passion is a terrible and shameful thing to do.
This person has underestimated me and taken me forgranted for a while. This person is shut off from learning and expanding their mind . And yet, all I can think is what a shame. This person missed out on getting to know me, and that is a loss.
That is all. I feel better now.

Special thanks to my Valentine!
My boyfriend Alex couldn't be here today but he will be here on Saturday. I had a great day, even if the guys at work were asking me where my flowers were. They're coming....I hope! Just teasing.
And congratulations to Alex for getting a perfect score on his math test today. Golf claps from everyone.
VALENTINE'S SONGS OF THE DAY:
1. DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE - I WILL FOLLOW YOU INTO THE DARK
2. EDWIN MCCAIN - I'LL BE
3. CHRIS ISAAK - WICKED GAME
4. KEITH URBAN - SOMEBODY LIKE YOU
5. COLDPLAY - FIX YOU
6. BUCKCHERRY - EVERYTHING
7. INCUBUS - DIG
8. CROWDED HOUSE - WEATHER WITH YOU
9. NINE INCH NAILS - CLOSER
10. FOO FIGHTERS - WALKING AFTER YOU
Valentine's Day is stupid.
It makes single people feel bad and it puts pressure on attached people to "do something nice for their sweetheart....or else". Today I saw men paying $90 for a dozen roses. Roses which will die in two weeks. It just seems a little silly to me.
And yet, today Brad and I had a contest where people call in and tell us why their partner deserves to be surprised with a big bouquet of flowers. We took countless calls and read many e-mails. The phone calls were really sweet! Men and women calling in telling us how much they love their significant other. One man had been married to his wife for 26 years and told us how he loves her more and more every day and that to this day he's absolutely crazy about her! It was really touching to hear all these genuine love stories.
We ended up surprising a mother of 3 who works and goes to school and still manages to make her family feel loved and special. She was so happy! Tears formed in her eyes almost immediately as we surprised her at school and you could tell she was truly surprised that her husband had called us to tell us how wonderful she is! I had tears in my eyes too. I'm such a sap.
Gives you that warm and fuzzy feeling inside. In closing - even if it is another pointless commercial holiday....Happy Valentine's Day!

Moving sucks. I should have believed Jessica when she told me how much she hates moving.
It really is terrible. On Monday we took the Big Silver Truck and collected a bunch of stuff from both of our places and dropped it off at Value Village. We plan on doing this again in a few days.
During lunch on Monday, Jess asked me if I had any "aggression" brewing inside of me. I gave her a funny look and said "Well yeah! Of course!". She needed me to help her destroy her bed frame. We had a hammer and a bat and we managed to destroy it! And it was glorious. Jessica called me a "maniac". You don't want to run into me in a back alley....let me tell you!
After the bed wrecking we sat down on the couch like civilised ladies and ate Jessica's homemade cheesecake. It was an excellent afternoon.

Monday mornings are so gross.
I would give anything to sleep in and not go to work.
Seconds feel like minutes - minutes feel like hours.
Mondays are the worst.
There is one thing on Mondays that make it worth rolling out of bed at 5:30am. Mel from the SPCA! Last Monday she brought two guinea pigs that Jess named "Chip & Dale". I had never held a guinea pig before but they are so cute! I held Chip and he made cute little noises when he was scratched.
And today Mel brought it Trixie. An 8 week old Lab X. She let me carry her around the station and never once whimpered. She was the cutest thing on earth. She made my Monday morning!
I had a wonderful weekend.
Jess took me to Smithers! We left on Friday after work and had a great drive up. I love going past all the small towns like Burns Lake, Houston, Telkwa, on the way up. You blink and you miss them. I just think of how many people don't even know these places exsist!
Smithers is amazing. It's as lovely and beautiful as I had imagined it. I felt relaxed when I was there. I went to bed on Friday night at 11:30pm and woke up at 1:09pm. I have not slept like that for years. Jess's parents were so welcoming and wonderful and made the yummiest meals and desserts. And ther doggy Gus kept me from missing Ozzy too much.
On Saturday, Jess took me up to Ski Smithers, we went to a great Dutch bakery, a hippie book shop which Kelly would have LOVED, and a great store called "Heartstrings". Then that night we went to the Hudson Bay Lodge for kareoke (no we did not sing). And then it was off to the infamous "Twin". Wow. I have heard many tales about the Twin and the club really lived up to all my expectations. We danced until 2 in the morning. It was fantastic.
I heart Smithers, BC. Thanks for a most memorable weekend Jess!

I had another awesome weekend.
I flew down to Vancouver on Friday night because I had to bring back a lot of my stuff that would take up too much room in the car when I drive back home.
I brought 3 suitcases full of books, dvds and clothes and left them in my old room. I also managed to visit with Dad, Nan and Gramps and hang out with friends.
Karlee and I went to lunch and saw "Catch and Release" the new Jennifer Garner movie. Very cute, very fluffy. Mom would have liked it. A silly romantic comedy....her favourite!
On Saturday I went to the Flying Beaver with a huge group of people and had a blast. I ran into so many old friends and had a genuinely wonderful time. I might have to make Saturday nights at the Beaver a routine night out. It's great!
On Sunday, I wacthed the Superbowl at Alex's house with him and the boys....I fell asleep on the couch. Mark Sanderson pointed and laughed at me....I was tired!!! At least that's better than me being the "annoying girlfriend" asking "Is it over yet? Can we watch something else? What's going on? Who's Manning and who's Hester? Why is Alex running around the house screaming?!".
FESTIVAL - FESTIVAL - FESTIVAL!!!
This Summer I plan on going to as many concerts as possible - and as many festivals as possible.
COACHELLA (APRIL 28-30) Indio, California: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bjork, Damien Rice, Lilly Allen, Willie Nelson, Peaches, Sonic Youth, Arctic Monkeys, Arcade Fire, Tiesto, Kaiser Chiefs, Placebo, The Decemberists, The Roots, Rage Against the Machine.....
VIRGIN FESTIVAL (May 20-21) Vancouver, BC: The Killers, AFI, My Chemical Romance, Billy Talent, Muse, Hot Hot Heat, Metric....
SASQUATCH FESTIVAL (May 26-28) George, Washington: TBA.....
And this is just the beginning!!!!
I've had a very busy week and have made a lot of serious decisions.
After a lot of thought I have decided to move back to Vancouver. For both personal and professional reasons I know that this is the best possible decision I could make for myself.
I will not go into details about my specific reasoning and would prefer not to discuss it at this time. However please know that I still plan on having a successful career in the Entertainment Industry and look forward to a wonderul, exciting and busy spring.
I cannot wait to be back in the Lower Mainland surrounded by those I love, and those who love me! I have not felt this happy and optimistic about life for a long time.
Thanks to everyone who has been supportive in this decision. It means the world to me. As Carol Gass, the Morning Co-Host on the Wolf at 97FM told me "Honey, you've got life by the......you have nothing to worry about".
